HIGHLIGHTS OF NIGERIA VS BENIN REPUBLIC

 The recent match between Nigeria and Benin Republic in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers ended in a 1-1 draw, played in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Benin took an early lead in the 16th minute through Mohamed Tijani, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by the Super Eagles. Despite dominating possession, Nigeria struggled to find the equalizer until Victor Osimhen headed in a goal in the 81st minute, preserving Nigeria’s unbeaten run in the qualifiers.

With this result, Nigeria secured the top spot in Group D with 11 points and has already qualified for AFCON 2025. This game also saw Osimhen tie Segun Odegbami's record as Nigeria's second all-time top scorer, with 23 goals, behind Rashidi Yekini’s 37.
