Update: Nigerian super Eagles arrives Uyo
The Nigerian Super Eagles have arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, ahead of their final 2025 AFCON qualifying match against Rwanda. The team landed on Friday afternoon at the Obong Victor Attah International Airport, signaling the start of their preparation for the game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. Having already secured their qualification for the tournament, the match against Rwanda will be less pressured for the Nigerian side.
Some early arrivals to the camp include team captain William Troost-Ekong, Nottingham Forest players Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina, and other key players such as Ademola Lookman, Semi Ajayi, and Olisa Ndah. The full squad is expected to complete their arrival shortly for the final training sessions.
Rwanda, still vying for qualification, faces an uphill battle in Uyo, needing both a win against Nigeria and favorable results in other group matches.
