Al Nassar ends attempt to sign Brighton's Mitoma

Al-Nassr has ended its pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion's winger Kaoru Mitoma after Brighton firmly stated they have no intention of selling the Japanese international. The Saudi Pro League club initially submitted a bid of €65 million (£54.42 million), which Brighton rejected. Despite expectations of a higher offer, Brighton maintained their stance, emphasizing that Mitoma is not for sale at any price. Additionally, it is believed that Mitoma has no interest in leaving the Amex Stadium. Consequently, Al-Nassr has accepted that the transfer will not proceed.

Mitoma, 27, has been a key player for Brighton since joining from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021. He has made 92 appearances and scored 18 goals across all competitions. In October 2023, he extended his contract with Brighton until June 2027. This season, he is the only Brighton player to have featured in all 23 Premier League games, contributing significantly to the team's current ninth-place standing.
