Messi sets another record
Lionel Messi has set a new Major League Soccer (MLS) record by becoming the first player in the league's history to score multiple goals in four consecutive games.
This remarkable streak for Inter Miami began in late May with two goals against Montreal, followed by another brace against Columbus. After a brief pause for the Club World Cup, where he scored once in four matches, Messi returned to MLS action with two more goals against Montreal, and then two against the New England Revolution on Wednesday night, securing the record.
With these recent goals, Messi's tally for the current MLS season stands at 14 goals in 15 regular-season matches.
