Thiago Silva performance in FIFA Club World Cup attracts Chelsea

Thiago Silva's performances in the current FIFA Club World Cup (2025) for Fluminense have indeed drawn attention, with reports highlighting his continued impressive displays despite his age. He has been a key figure in Fluminense's defense, even playing through an injury in one match.

It's important to note, however, that Thiago Silva has a very recent and significant history with Chelsea. He joined Chelsea on a free transfer in August 2020 and played for them for four seasons, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup during his time there. He became a fan favorite and even won Chelsea's Player of the Year award.

He officially left Chelsea at the end of the 2023/2024 season and rejoined his boyhood club, Fluminense, in July 2024.

Therefore, while his current performances are indeed impressive and he is attracting praise, the idea of Chelsea being "attracted" to him in a transfer sense is highly unlikely given he just left them and is now 40 years old, having returned to Brazil to conclude his career. His strong showing in the Club World Cup likely serves to remind fans and pundits of the quality he brought to Chelsea during his tenure.
