Son Heung-min departure from Tottenham Hotspur confirmed

Son Heung-min has announced he will be leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer after a decade at the club.

The Tottenham captain made the emotional announcement at a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, stating it was "the most difficult decision" of his career. He explained that he feels he has achieved everything he can at Tottenham, including captaining the team to a Europa League triumph in May 2025, and needs a new environment for a fresh challenge.

While his next destination hasn't been officially confirmed, it's widely reported that he is in advanced talks with Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the USA. This move would see him join his former Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris. There was also reported interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, but it appears he prefers a move to the United States.

Son's departure marks the end of a remarkable era at Tottenham, where he made over 450 appearances and scored 173 goals, becoming a true legend for the club and one of the Premier League's greatest players.
